From what I can see this main event was Carter and Galloway’s big moment to put on a 5 star match, we already know Carter CAN wrestler much to the disbelieving chants from TNA fans and Galloway’s performances in FPW, ICW and TNA show he has the ability to mix it up physically and technically in which manner is required. From a babyface/heel perspective this is singles match was the basis for a feud that TNA needed, two talents who in WWE were not given the run of the mill but here in TNA they have certainly been given the opportunity to shine, so much so that when I saw Galloway vs Carter booked for BFG I thought YES! This is your Rock/Austin right here. This match could have set the standard for these two to begin a long term rivalry which could progress way into next year. 6 months? 12 month? I don’t care! but it would be refreshing for TNA to have a consistent storyline for this period of time with no Abyss coming out from under the ring, no hostile takeovers or multiple stables being added to the mix.
I guess you are probably thinking but what’s the problem of having both Hardy’s added to this mix? “Delzinski, this is consistent booking with current storylines!”…….Yes it is... but was it needed to have all of this thrown in 1 week before the PPV? At some point Jeff Hardy is going to stick it to EC3, I think we all gather that but is TNA planning to pull an even bigger swerve with Jeff Hardy attacking Matt? Or let’s think RUSSO BIG with Matt costing Drew and siding with Carter!!! Yeah…..hopefully not that one! But have you noticed a pattern? All my outcomes are talking about the Hardy’s where my focus should be on the 2 young talents that have busted their gut to headline TNAs biggest pay per view of the year, that’s no discredit to the Hardy’s efforts but I just feel their presence in this match draws attention away from the spectacle of something very simple which would have been a great technical and physical match with Carter and Galloway. The stage was set for them to show there in ring talent on the biggest stage and I feel with this booking change this has been taken away from them.
Do you agree with me? Should TNA have kept it simply with Carter vs Galloway or are you happy to have Matt and Jeff Hardy added to the main event? How do you think the match will play out? And will EC3 leave as Champion! Let me know via the comments below as I urge you all to GET INVOLVED!
